On February 9th, 2015 the City of Fultondale entered into an agreement with the Greater Birmingham Humans Society (GBHS) to take over the city’s animal control. Under this contract the GBHS will be responsible for patrolling within the city limits twice each week, looking for any pets or strays that may be running at large. By a pet running at large it violates city ordinance no. 519, which directly pertains to the restraint and control of dogs.
ALL animals that are picked up will be taken to the GBHS shelter located at 300 Snow Drive, Birmingham, Alabama, 35209 where you must take proof of ownership to claim your pet.
If you are missing a pet please visit http://gbhs.org/lost-found-pets/ and go through the proper steps to see if he or she were turned in. Be sure to check back often as more pets are turned in and picked up daily. You may also contact the shelter by calling them at (205) 591- 6522 or by visiting their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GBHS1883/timeline.
