NORTH JEFFERSON — NJN schedule changing for Christmas, New Year
The North Jefferson News will publish on Friday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 31, instead of publishing on Saturday. The U.S. Postal Service will be closed the days of Christmas and New Year, which are both on Saturday this year.
For the two Friday editions, classified advertising deadlines will be moved to Thursday at noon. The early publications do not affect display advertising deadlines.
Fire department partners with King’s Home
Mt. Olive Fire and Rescue is hosting a clothing drive Dec. 27-31 to benefit King’s Home, a ministry meeting the needs of abused women, children and youth. Bring gently used clothing, shoes, books and small appliances to the King’s Home trailer at the fire station, 3235 Mt. Olive Road in Mt. Olive, to receive a tax donation receipt. Fultondale council to rebid Black Creek Park lighting
The Fultondale City Council on Tuesday authorized Mayor Jim Lowery to refuse previous bids and rebid the light proposal for Black Creek Park ball fields. In other business, the council approved a loan to the Commercial Development Authority for funds for development projects in the city.
The next Fultondale City Council meeting is Jan. 10, 6 p.m.
