Can you believe it has already been four years since Chaney Hubbert enlisted in the Marines? Her tour of duty is up as of June 7. Congrat-ulations to Chaney and all our military.
• Ste-phanie Rowe Vernon, daughter of Denise Rowe, is now based in Norfolk, Va., and was recently promoted to EM3 Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. She recently returned from a seven month deployment. Stephanie is the granddaughter of the late Carvin and Bobbie Rowe of Fultondale. Congratulations to her and her husband.
• For those who donated to the fire department fund raiser, the photographers will be out today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. taking family portraits or your favorite pet’s picture.
• Mark your calendars for the Annual Fultondale Stampede 5K run on June 20 at Walkers Chapel Baptist Church, located at 1525 Briscoe Street in Fultondale. The run is sponsored by Fultondale Gas and benefits the Fultondale Volunteer Fire Department. The start times are 8 a.m. for the 5K (walkers are welcome) and 9 a.m. for the 1-mile Fun Run.
• The next city council meeting will be June 11 at 11:30 a.m.
• We would like to send our deepest sympathies to Jim Valentine on the death of his father, and to the family of David (Dabo) Martin who passed away; please remember those families in your prayers.
• Please continue to remember Miss Polly Goodwin in your prayers so that she may get stronger and stronger. Mrs. Earline Hubbert also needs your prayers; she is getting better.
